This position is for the School Year.
Overview of Position:
School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and lifelong achievement and health of students. School nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety, including a healthy environment; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy, and learning.

Responsibilities/Duties:
In accordance with the standards of school nursing practice and Oregon nurse practice act, implement appropriate use of the nursing process to plan and provide individualized nursing care in the school community, including nursing delegation and training for anticipated emergencies.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Educational Requirements:
- Unencumbered and current Oregon license to practice as a Registered Nurse;
- Current First Aid and CPR certification;
- Experience with computer systems;
- BSN/BS in a health-related field.
