The role is site-based, with occasional travel, in Kent and will involve working as part of a collaborative service organisation responsible for the evaluation, failure diagnosis, repair, calibration and adjustment of thermal imaging products and systems. This position would suit a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop their practical electronics skills within a highly technical environment. Responsibilities for the Graduate Electronics Service & Repair Engineer based in Kent:
Evaluate, diagnose, repair, calibrate and adjust thermal imaging products, infrared cameras and associated sensor systems.
* Support fault-finding activities at component, PCB and system level on mixed-signal electronic assemblies.
* Apply knowledge gained through academic projects, placements or industrial experience to investigate and resolve electronic faults.
* Work closely with Customer Service, the Service Manager and wider technical teams, providing timely updates and clear progress reports.
* Operate hand tools and electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters and signal generators.
* Assist with software and firmware updates on camera products, using computer systems and embedded electronics knowledge where appropriate.
* Maintain service records and documentation to support repair, calibration and verification activities. Skills and requirements for the Graduate Electronics Service & Repair Engineer based in Kent:
Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
* Academic, placement year, internship or industrial experience working directly with mixed-signal electronics.
* Understanding of analogue and digital electronic circuits, PCB-level diagnostics and fault-finding techniques.
* Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies.
* Experience gained through university projects, laboratory work, placements or commercial environments involving electronic system development, testing or repair.
* Knowledge of embedded systems, sensors, imaging technology or firmware would be advantageous.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a keen interest in electronics diagnostics, repair and calibration.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a technical team environment.
* Eligibility to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control licence where required.
