- Provide guidance and support to the business on anti-money laundering controls, processes and training
- Take the lead on AML and Financial Crime projects
- Act as the main point of reference in live cases where AML risks are identified
- Progress customer risk rating, process enhancement, and AML staff training and awareness projects
- Work with the Senior Risk Manager, Senior Compliance Manager and MLRO on MLRO Annual Reports and related recommendations
- Enhance processes for identifying AML red flags using staff awareness and system data
- Advise on the appropriate level of CDD and EDD for live cases
- Support AML-related business decisions and make recommendations
- Advance customer-book risk-rating capabilities
- Implement projects and actions highlighted by the MLRO Annual Report
- Conduct periodic reviews of higher-risk customers
- Oversee shortfall and over-payment queries
- Investigate internally raised AML suspicions
- Supply monthly and quarterly financial crime MI
- Undertake ad hoc projects and research as directed by the Senior Management Team
- Highly motivated individual with exceptional analytical and communication skills
- Strong hands-on AML and KYC experience, ideally gained in financial services
- Previously worked in the financial services/mortgage industry
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and detail-oriented skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential management issues and information with discretion
- Team player, supportive of others, proactive
- Self-educating, curious, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset
- Familiarity with third-party AML systems
- Knowledge of fraud detection systems such as CIFAS, SIRA and Hunter
- Understanding of internal and external SARs
- Understanding of FCA and AML regulation
- Ability to assess AML/Financial Crime risk posed by customers and evaluate customer risk ratings
- Keen eye for detail and ability to not take everything at face value
Demonstrates strong expertise in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, with a focus on risk assessment, compliance, and financial crime prevention. Proficient in utilizing AML systems and conducting detailed investigations while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
