The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the day‑to‑day operational duties associated with the dispensing of prescription medication as required to meet the needs of a long‑term/post‑acute care pharmacy. The Staff Pharmacist must adhere to the company’s quality and customer service standards, policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal guidelines.
SCHEDULE11:30 am – 8 pm and every 3rd weekend 9 am – 5:30 pm.
Responsibilities- Verification for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders. Check for content and accuracy of all medication packaging and labeling including emergency drug kits and IV medications.
- Maintain resident database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication (including OTC and home remedies).
- Assist in the proper ordering, handling, receiving, documentation, and storage of all controlled substances; assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs.
- Work with appropriate pharmacy technician in reconciling Controlled Substances perpetual inventory as required by management for compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide clinical expertise by responding to drug‑related questions and concerns initiated by internal staff and external customers.
- Document all communication with physicians, nurses, other members of the healthcare team and patients/residents and their family members in the medical record.
- Preparation and/or supervision of all sterile IV drug products or solutions.
- Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during rotation and as required by management.
- Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.

Required Skills/Abilities- Perform accurately and efficiently when dispensing prescription medications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evening, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience using Framework
LTC. - Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and well‑developed verbal and written communication skills with English as the primary language.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, meet deadlines, establish priorities, and be flexible, work under pressure with multiple tasks. Must have strong organizational, customer service, and time management skills, ability to problem solve.
- This position must exhibit maturity in judgment.
- Current Pharmacist license active and in good standing in the state of practice.
- Management experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or Pharmacy Doctorate from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
