Base pay range$32.00/hr - $33.00/hr
Day in the lifeStep into a high-energy steelmaking environment where your expertise keeps production moving. You’ll maintain, troubleshoot, and improve plant electrical systems across multiple facilities in the Mon Valley. A single application covers Clairton Works, Irvin Works, and Edgar Thomson Works.
What you’ll do- Diagnose and repair plant power and control systems, from AC/DC circuits to drives, sensors, and PLC-based automation.
- Install, commission, and sustain a wide range of electrical equipment to ensure continuous operations in a heavy industrial setting.
- Support production when needed and coordinate with operations to minimize downtime.
- Work independently with minimal direction or collaborate with fellow maintenance technicians.
- Use standard and specialty tools alongside plant material‑handling equipment (pendant/overhead cranes, mobile equipment, forklifts) to safely access and service equipment.
- Move between areas of the plants—conditions may be hot, cold, wet, greasy, dirty, and noisy.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing/industrial experience or equivalent education (military experience welcomed). Experience may include: industrial electronics; motors and controls; reading schematics and electrical power; print interpretation; computers and PLCs; electronics; AC/DC theory and power; test instruments and instrumentation; electrical maintenance; commercial construction/installation.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to work rotating 8‑hour shifts, including weekends and holidays; overtime as required.
- Uncompromising commitment to safety and PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and metatarsal‑guard boots.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and self‑direction in a fast‑paced operation.
- Ability to successfully complete required assessment test(s).

- Experience in a manufacturing environment
