CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT - ORTHOPEDIC - HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER

Certified Medical Assistant - Orthopedic is responsible for assisting in providing clinical care to select patients under the supervision of a professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner and providing clerical office assistance. This Orthopedics practice has 14 physicians. Prior orthopedic experience is a plus. Transportation is required, and possible travel to other sites for coverage may be necessary.

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms, including supplies and instruments.
• Assist patients for physician visits and examinations as directed.
• Take and record patient vital signs in the medical chart.
• Operate and maintain special equipment properly.
• Perform EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab testing after completing the performance evaluation checklist.
• Maintain patient records, file documents, and manage reports.
• Assist with collections/billing procedures as needed.
• Use computer software to maintain office systems.
• Identify and address confidentiality concerns.
• Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and primary caregivers across age, culture, language, and accessibility needs.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 1 hour a day.

• High School diploma or equivalent such as a GED.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively and supportively with varying populations.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

• Certified Medical Assistant / Certified Registered Medical Assistant / National Certified Medical Assistant / Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant / Registered Clinical Medical Assistant Specialist.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Minimum rate of $24.09 hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate represents a reasonable good‑faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role, and does not reflect the full value of our market‑competitive total rewards package.

The starting rate of pay provided is for informational purposes only and may differ based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget. Eligible positions may also include performance‑based incentives, bonuses, or commissions, and shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend work.
