Job SummaryThe Occupational Therapist provides skilled therapy services to individuals with physical, developmental, or emotional challenges. The goal is to help patients achieve or regain independence in daily living, work, and self‑care activities through therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients’ physical and functional abilities through clinical observations, interviews, and assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients’ motor skills, coordination, and ability to perform daily tasks.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and adaptive strategies for home and community environments.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Document evaluations, treatment progress, and patient outcomes in compliance with state and agency regulations.
- Recommend and assist in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices, safety standards, and state/federal regulations.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (required).
- Licensure: Current and valid New Jersey Occupational Therapy License.
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred (new graduates welcome).
- Certifications: BLS/CPR certification (required).
- Skills: Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and patient interaction skills.
