Highway Construction Crew Laborer - Northeast Louisiana

D&J Construction Company, a leading highway construction contractor in northeast Louisiana, is seeking motivated and dependable Crew Laborers for asphalt highway construction projects. Prior experience is preferred but not required-we provide on-the-job training for candidates committed to developing their skills in the construction industry.

Position Overview:

The Highway Construction Crew Laborer performs a variety of manual tasks involved in highway construction, including preparing job sites, handling equipment and materials, and supporting paving operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general construction-related labor tasks across all phases of highway construction.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain construction job sites.
• Safely use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and brooms.
• Operate power tools (jackhammers, earth tampers, pavement breakers) under supervision.
• Assist with traffic control and safety procedures as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Flexible availability - Primarily daytime shifts, Monday through Friday, but frequent Saturdays could be required with occasional Sunday and nighttime work required.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to effectively follow instructions from supervisors and senior crew members.
• Prior asphalt or construction experience preferred but not required.
