Job Summary
The Project Coordinator will oversee the telecommunications team’s project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role will be assigned to all projects in a region and is responsible for maintaining project schedules, tracking costs, managing materials, contracting and permit tracking, and managing IT change tickets. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will maintain project data and communicate risks to the Program Manager and stakeholders.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage low-level project schedules and track deliverables for the Telecom project team.
- Track and provide updates on financials for assigned projects.
- Attend project meetings to provide updates as required.
- Assist with task execution and scope assessment of new projects.
- Provide change management assistance by entering and processing project changes in SNOW.
- Assist with administrative work related to project delivery, such as permitting, contract tracking, and documentation gathering.
- Assist engineers in the material ordering process of the projects.
Basic or Minimum Requirements
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Experience:
1+ years of experience in project coordination or project management support. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint). - Project Management Knowledge:
Understanding of project lifecycle, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management principles. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder updates.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and regional coordinators.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
- Skilled in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Location:
Candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to West Monroe. Candidates outside of that distance must provide a cover letter regarding relocation intentions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with telecommunications projects or IT infrastructure.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Knowledge of Power BI for resource tracking and reporting.
- Prior cost control experience.
- PMP, CAPM, or other project management certifications.
- Proven experience in program or portfolio management within telecommunications or related field.
Working Conditions
- Work conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office) on an active construction site.
- Field duties require outdoor work in a plant or construction atmosphere.
- Interaction with other team members, supervisors, and client personnel.
- Exposure to working plant, construction, and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Must wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry 5 pounds.
- Good hearing and speech.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
- Adequate vision for analysis and investigations.
- Manual dexterity for routine office duties.
- Physical mobility and reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary.
