Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing professional grooming services for dogs, utilizing knowledge of canine characteristics, grooming styles, and techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year grooming/styling experience with pets.
• Comfort working with dogs and cats.
• Must provide own grooming tools or be willing to purchase them.
• High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of Petsense Paragon Level 1 & 2 training preferred.

• Operate grooming tools and equipment effectively.
• Effective communication with customers.
• Compassionate animal handling.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to lift pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible working hours including weekends.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Work safely around pets and their waste.

Working Conditions

• Indoor environment with moderate noise.
• Exposure to wet conditions, pets, and pet waste.
• Variable shifts, generally no less than 4 hours.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards.

Physical Requirements

• Move and transfer animals and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and perform grooming for up to 8 hours.
• Utilize grooming tools and operate store equipment.
• Bend, kneel, and squat frequently.
• Read, write, and count accurately for documentation.
