Substitute Teachers School Year
Be among the first 25 applicants for a Substitute Teacher position.
There are two Substitute Teacher Credential Pathways:
- Pathway 1 (Per N.J.A.C. 6A:9B-7.3):
Completion of 60 semester-hours credits at an accredited college or university. - Pathway 2 (Per P.L. 2021, c.87):
Completion of 30 semester-hour credits at an accredited institution of higher education, with the applicant being at least 20 years of age and enrolled in an accredited institution at the time of application. - Credentials from both pathways are valid for five (5) years from the date of issuance.
Pay rates:
- Long-term substitutes for certificated teachers: $200.00 per day
- Daily substitutes: $130.00 per day
