The Pediatrician will be a regional float for Northeast Jersey (West Orange, Caldwell, North Wayne). The Pediatrician operates in a team with other clinic healthcare providers and support staff. The Pediatrician provides patient medical care to all patient from newborn to age 18 in an office-based, multi-specialty group practice. In addition, the Pediatrician provides diagnostic and therapeutic medical services, while making reasonable and sound medical assessments and treatment plans.
** Duties and Responsibilities
** The duties include, but are not limited to:
* Disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery
* Floating between offices in Northeast New Jersey
* Treatment of acute illnesses
* Treatment of acute injuries
* Prescribes and administers medications, performs routine vaccinations, and provides advice regarding personal health and hygiene
* Requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary
* Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
* Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
* Performs a variety of tasks
* A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
* Provides direction to both clinical and reception support staff
* Proper and complete medical documentation (without copy/paste) for all patient care in order to assure accuracy (above 80% with goal of 95%) of E/M coding – and closing/sign off after review of all patient charts in accordance with company policies.  Failure to meet this essential job function can affect the eligibility for productivity/PCN (percent net collection) bonuses
* Proper and complete medical documentation (without copy/paste) for all patient care in order to assure accuracy of HCC coding. Failure to meet this essential job function can affect the eligibility for VBC bonuses
* Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
** Qualifications or Education, Training and Experience
*** Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
* Licensed in the state of New Jersey
* Board certified or Board eligible Pediatrician
* Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice (i.e., family practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics)
* DEA controlled substances registration
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) certification
* Successful completion of CHC’s credentialing and privileging review upon hire and recredentialing as appropriate
* Strong computer skills with prior electronic medical record (EMR) use preferred
* Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, hospital personnel and community members
* Skills to perform patient treatment procedures for most acute illnesses or injuries
* Remains calm and effective in high pressure and emergency situations
