Facility: Acacia Care Rehab and Nursing Center
Position: RN Unit Manager
Location: West Orange, New Jersey
Shift: Full Time | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $50 – $52 per hour

About the Role

Acacia Care Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced RN Unit Manager to join our leadership team. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. This is a rewarding opportunity to lead nursing staff, support quality initiatives, and make a lasting impact in a resident-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the DON and ADON in overseeing daily nursing operations.

  • Supervise professional and non-professional staff, ensuring quality care delivery.

  • Manage unit staffing to maintain proper coverage and minimize overtime/agency use.

  • Address resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion.

  • Provide coaching, progressive counseling, and disciplinary action as needed.

  • Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings.

  • Oversee MDS completion and quality assurance initiatives.

  • Teach, demonstrate, and evaluate nursing skills to support staff development.

  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of nursing personnel.

  • Attend committee meetings and contribute to facility-wide goals.

  • Step into nursing responsibilities on weekends/holidays as needed.

Requirements
  • Current RN license in New Jersey.

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or similar setting (preferred).

  • Previous long-term care experience strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing practices.
