Beauty Sales Consultant at CVS Health

Position Summary

We’re looking for a highly motivated, sales‑oriented Beauty Sales Consultant to join our beauty retail division. As the primary beauty advisor, you will provide a friendly, knowledgeable service experience, share the latest beauty trends, and help customers build a personalized, robust basket. The role is ideal for those passionate about the beauty industry and committed to delivering a top‑notch client experience.

Customer Sales Experience

  • Seek out customers to ensure a fantastic beauty advisor experience through personalized sales service based on customer needs, effective upselling, and follow‑up contact.
  • Engage customers as they enter the beauty zone, listen to their needs, and provide specialized sales advice.
  • Use verbal skills to generate sales and create a different thought process in the conversation.
  • Be the brand expert by answering product questions in detail with deep product knowledge to produce the largest sales basket possible.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Explain how various products help the customer address their needs and leverage the CVS Beauty monthly sampling program.
  • Participate in and represent company sales programs or events that positively impact business.
  • Create and maintain product displays, end caps, and other beauty‑specific promotional materials.
  • Maintain a clean, well‑stocked beauty zone that complies with hygiene standards.
  • Execute testing, sanitation, hazardous waste disposal, and tool cleansing policies in a timely and compliant manner.

Training & Personal Growth

  • Complete initial 30/60/90‑day onboarding and ongoing training to keep sales, product knowledge, and selling skills current.
  • Execute the established sales plan by meeting the sales budget and tracking progress.
  • Participate in sales training meetings and conference calls on programs, promotions, new items, and brand launches.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Remain curious and excited about the latest beauty trends and techniques.

Physical & Core Requirements

  • Stand and move throughout the store for the majority of work time.
  • Stoop, kneel, or crouch, and reach or grasp objects on lower shelves.
  • Manual dexterity for tasks such as ear piercing (training provided).
  • Sales oriented and able to use sales data with product/brand knowledge.
    Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
    Goal‑driven, able to multi‑task and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Flexible retail schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Bilingual beauty advisors may be required in specific stores.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Beauty Sales Experience.
  • Current knowledge of beauty products and brands.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.

Pay Range

$17.92 – $26.92 per hour (base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary). Actual offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
