About Technical-Link North AmericaTechnical-Link North America places contract engineering professionals with clients in the Engineering Field. We have been in business since 2006 and currently support a large number of active contractors. We are a small team, so this role works directly with ownership and has a real impact on how the business runs.
About the roleWe are hiring a hands-on Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant to own the weekly financial workflow of our staffing business. You will turn approved timesheets into accurate invoices and payroll, keep receivables moving, keep the books clean, and give ownership clear reporting on revenue, cash flow, and margins.
This role suits someone who has worked inside a contract staffing firm and understands how timesheets, pay rates, bill rates, payroll, and collections connect. You will work independently, spot problems early, and help us maintain strong financial controls.
Key responsibilitiesListed in order of priority. Time estimates are approximate.
Contractor billing and payroll (about 40%)- Process weekly contractor timesheets and verify hours, overtime, and expense reimbursements.

- Coordinate weekly or biweekly contractor payroll with our outside payroll provider.
- Reconcile timesheets, invoices, purchase orders, and vendor management system (VMS) records.
- Catch missing timesheets, billing discrepancies, and missed billable hours before deadlines.
- Keep contractor records current: assignments, pay rates, bill rates, and start and end dates.
- Track open invoices and follow up with clients on overdue balances and payment discrepancies.
- Maintain the AR aging report and work with ownership to resolve disputes.
- Compare upcoming payroll obligations with expected client payments and flag cash flow concerns early.
- Maintain the general ledger and supporting documentation in Quick Books.
- Manage accounts payable, vendor invoices, and payment schedules.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and track expenses and employee reimbursements.
- Run the monthly close and prepare the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
- Work with our outside CPA on tax preparation and year-end reporting.
- Keep organized, audit-ready records for financial reviews, audits, and CPA requests.
- Track gross profit by contractor, assignment, and client.
- Prepare weekly billing and payroll summaries and monthly reports on revenue, receivables, expenses, and margins.
- Flag unusual transactions, duplicate payments, missing invoices, and margin discrepancies.
- Maintain company files, contracts, vendor records, and employee documentation.
- Support contractor onboarding paperwork and payroll documentation.
- Help improve processes, spreadsheets, and internal records over time.
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and invoicing.
- Experience coordinating payroll with an outside payroll provider.
- Experience preparing monthly financial statements.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Quick Books or comparable accounting software.
- A track record of meeting weekly billing and payroll deadlines accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and discretion with confidential information.
- Clear, professional communication with ownership, clients, and contractors.
