Community Asphalt, founded in 1980 as an asphalt paving contractor, based in Miami, Florida, and part of OHLA USA since 2006, has since become specialized in general road construction and transportation infrastructure. From its four operation and plant facilities in Miami-Dade, Fort Myers, Vero Beach and West Palm Beach, the company boasts extensive geographic coverage throughout South Florida, focusing on all aspects of transportation infrastructure development, primarily for state and local authorities.

Community Asphalt continues to provide traditional paving services which include grading and paving, pavement milling, surveying, excavation, on and off-road hauling, drainage, utilities, base finishing, and highway sweeping. The company also provides engineering, contracting, design and build and finance and more complex PPP contracts services. These projects include parking lots, industrial and retail complexes, road and highway construction, and airport runways.

Our company has an immediate opening for a Finish Dozer Operator, Construction in West Palm Beach, FL. The Finish Dozer Operator, Construction will be responsible for operating bulldozers to perform precise grading and finishing tasks as part of our construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of reading and interpreting plans, cross-sections, elevations, and grades to meet the specific requirements of our projects.

• Operate bulldozer and other heavy machinery to perform fine grading and finishing operations.
• Read, interpret, and execute plans, cross-sections, and elevation drawings accurately.
• Adjust equipment and machinery settings according to the specifics of the task and site conditions.
• Use GPS and other grade control systems to guide machinery for precision grading. Not required - Can Train.
• Collaborate with other construction staff and project managers to ensure specifications are met.
• Regularly inspect machines and perform basic maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
• Adhere to safety protocols and standards to prevent accidents and injuries on site.
• Provide timely updates on task completion and report any issues with equipment or project execution.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Proven experience as a Finish Dozer Operator in construction.
• Strong ability to read and understand construction plans, cross-sections, and related documents.
• Familiarity with GPS and laser-guided equipment for precision grading.
• Knowledge of different types of bulldozer blades and attachments and their applications.
• Excellent understanding of elevations, grades, and the implications for finishing work.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety standards on the job site.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating dozers and other heavy machinery in a construction setting.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing site conditions.
• Must be able to pass a background, drug and physical test.
• Schedule:
  
  7am-5pm but can vary with overnight and/or weekends.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with employees and supervisors.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
