Purpose

As a Middle‑School Science Teacher, you will create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment conducive to student learning and personal growth. You will develop lesson plans consistent with guidelines, establish rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge aligned with each student’s ability.

How You Will Impact Education
  • Plan and implement instruction that aligns with the company’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Create purposeful lesson plans that maximize time on task and use effective teaching strategies.
  • Present subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunities and provide real‑world, application‑based examples.
  • Review student records to understand each student’s abilities and needs; maintain accurate, complete records.
  • Use a range of learning modalities and differentiation within lessons.
  • Apply diagnostic assessments frequently and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Provide feedback and generate progress reports as required.
  • Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
  • Assign lessons, correct student work, and review oral presentations.
  • Coordinate field trips and prepare students for state‑required achievement assessments.
  • Stay current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory; share knowledge to improve curriculum.
  • Assist in curriculum revision, including written courses of study, and selection of instructional materials.
  • Integrate supplemental services beneficial to students as an extension of classroom activities.
Provide a Classroom Environment Conducive to Learning
  • Create an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
  • Maintain positive rapport with students, demonstrating patience and nurturing support.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and displays student‑generated work.
  • Implement all relevant student conduct policies and develop reasonable classroom rules.
  • Maintain order fairly and consistently.
Instructional Planning
  • Develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines and goals.
  • Plan individual and group activities to meet instructional objectives and students’ needs.
  • Prepare for classes assigned and demonstrate preparation upon request.
  • Participate in curriculum planning meetings with other staff.
  • Incorporate diagnostic information from students’ Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Take precautions to protect supplies, equipment, and materials needed to implement the program.
School/Community Relations
  • Establish cooperative relations and communicate with parents/guardians when appropriate.
  • Communicate clearly, consistently, and positively with parents via appropriate mediums.
  • Cooperate with administrators, staff, and CSUSA.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student records.
  • Participate in parent communication activities and extracurricular events to support a positive school culture.
