You’ve seen how effective reading instruction works—and you’ve recognized that the real challenge isn’t method, but scale.
Alpha School offers you the opportunity to design and implement an AI-powered reading program that generates more measurable student progress in 2 hours than conventional schools produce in an entire day. You’ll create adaptive learning experiences, interpret live student performance data, and work alongside engineers to develop literacy technologies that extend your influence to hundreds of learners simultaneously.
This position blends direct student instruction with innovative program design, allowing you to impact individual readers while constructing a scalable system that delivers foundational literacy outcomes across multiple school sites.
What You Will Be Doing- Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
- Creating individualized motivational experiences that engage students and foster enduring enthusiasm for reading
- Reviewing student performance metrics to iteratively improve instructional methods and extract meaningful insights
- Partnering with engineering teams to assess and refine AI-powered literacy platforms
- Bachelor’s degree plus advanced certification in reading pedagogy (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or comparable credential)
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience leading small‑group reading interventions with early elementary learners
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate reading proficiency, organize student groups, and create differentiated lesson plans independent of packaged curricula
- Comfortable using AI and adaptive learning platforms, with the ability to adjust instruction based on student interaction patterns
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
- Available to work on‑site at one of these locations:

Working with usThis is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
