Position Summary
Faculty members deliver quality education services, engaging students, fostering learning, role modeling professionalism, and ultimately producing competently trained students prepared for professional careers. The Veterinary Assisting Instructor provides up‑to‑date, fully prepared instruction to veterinary assisting students in an energetic and motivating instructional manner while engaging in activities in student retention and managing classroom/lab activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare course plans and materials.
- Deliver lectures and facilitate labs (on‑ground or online).
- Assess students and provide developmental feedback.
- Provide progress reports and mid‑term feedback.
- Maintain gradebook and enforce grading policies.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and meet HCI policies on attendance, dress code, etc.
- Identify at‑risk students and implement timely action plans.
- Provide weekly assessments and feedback reports.
- Record and submit final grades.
- Monitor equipment and supply needs and maintain classroom/lab environment.
- Seek substitute staff during absences.
- Participate in orientation, graduation ceremonies, staff and faculty meetings, committees, and knowledge‑sharing forums.
- Use instructional technology:
Course Key for attendance records, Campus Nexus for communication, and Moodle for gradebook purposes. - Maintain licensure, certifications, and required personnel paperwork.
- Maintain a minimum of eight (8) Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) annually.
- Encourage students to submit course evaluations and use feedback to improve course delivery.
- Comply with all governmental regulations and accreditation standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Possess the required degree for the specific discipline and relevant credentials in the academic area as per governing bodies.
- Deep knowledge of course content.
- Effective in directing and evaluating student learning and lab performance.
- Prepared in Educational Theory and Techniques.
- Computer literacy, functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
- Willingness to follow high ethical standards.
- Minimum of an earned Associate’s degree with a major in an accredited health sciences program, or equivalent.
- Minimum of four (4) years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught (per ACCSC).
- Current and active Veterinary Technician certification.
The physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, communicating with coworkers, presenting to a classroom of students (virtual or onsite), demonstrating procedures and techniques, and traveling to appropriate classes and offices. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Location- Onsite position at West Palm Beach (Main Campus) or Fort Lauderdale (Branch of West Palm Beach).
