Education and Experience Requirements- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and four (4) years related experience.
- A/P license, FCC license or NCATT certification preferred.
Provides leadership, technical expertise and guidance while performing various operational, functional tests and repairs of avionics/electronic, aircraft equipment and systems to ensure a defect‑free aircraft. Demonstrates superior technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to maintain schedule impact, ensuring safety and quality.
Job Description- Demonstrate superior technical skills and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
- Provide direct training to personnel to support cross‑training goals while maintaining a safety‑conscious, quality‑oriented workforce.
- Teach installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals.
- Maintain quality and efficiency of all installations; troubleshoot and teach troubleshooting processes to ensure timely, quality repairs.
- Control and repair defective components and wiring to meet conformity, using accepted practices such as splicing, soldering and pinning.
- Oversee compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
- Set up and operate necessary test equipment; conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
- Maintain daily logs and documentation for all work performed on the aircraft.
- Pre‑inspect work of others prior to approval to reduce rework and inspection time.
- Provide technical expertise in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems and components.
- Enforce the company FOD, tool control, 5‑S programs and all safety regulations.
- Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
- Teach installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications and drawings.
- Possess self‑inspection capability for all avionics testing functions.
- Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests if required.
- Proficiency in operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems (hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, structural installations).
- APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English.
