Trustbridge Hospice, a part of Empath Health is seeking a detail-oriented Full-Time Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team. The Staff Accountant provides effective and efficient accounting functions in accordance with Board approved policies, procedures and applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in order that the strategic/financial objectives of the agency are attained. This includes analytical work and thorough review of financial activities/records.
Duties encompass the activities of Trustbridge, Inc. and its affiliates.
- Analyzes revenue and expenses in order to prepare assigned monthly journal entries to facilitate timely closing of accounting records within the prescribed timetables
- Performs monthly account analysis and reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts, including cash, payroll, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, deposits and liabilities.
- Performs the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries.
- Prepares and analyzes the monthly and YTD actuals to Budget reports per Company/Department as directed by the Corporate Controller. This shall include analysis of patient care activity, revenue, expenses, fixed assets, inventory, etc.
- Assists Finance/Accounting Management with the annual audit, assessment of risk, internal controls and preparation of tax returns.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent is preferred.
- One to three years experience as an accountant with experience in general ledger, tax returns and preparation of financial statements and reports, preferably in a health care environment.
- Ability to monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation; create financial reports and/or presentations.
- Experience with computer financial applications, including accounting and billing systems, spreadsheets and databases. Ability to use such applications in order to prepare analytical reports, including charts and graphs.
- Ability to demonstrate professional communication skills, both written and orally and able to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
