Our Client is looking for a Financial Analyst II who will partner with the capital finance team and the construction team to forecast for budget and determine monthly spend.
This role supports business partner management (accounts payable) and the analyst with weekly reporting, purchase orders, AP holds (up to 30 days), and AP aging. We are seeking someone with AP experience as well as experience with Excel, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP who also has an innate skillset of managing time and workload independently.
Key Accountabilities:
- Drive system efficiencies, providing positive operational impacts across the Construction portfolio and contributing to growth initiatives.
- Maintain standard reporting measures, documentation and processes, quantitative explanation of relevant data, and ongoing analysis of alternatives and solutions.
- Provide financial summaries with analysis support for metrics related to forecast and budget variances, and funding needs within the Construction related lines of business.
- Work closely with managers and leaders to understand their resources, including funding sources, project end dates, and other relevant data.
- Validate and action data through cooperation from team members and regular spot checks.
- Create and maintain multiple operational reporting tools.
- Provide analytical support of actual results against forecast and budget and feasibility of proposed business strategies.
- Analyze available data and information, identify data issues, and recommend changes to management. Develop a process to streamline the efforts in the research, analysis, actionable steps, and tracking within this area.
- Consolidate data elements/sources and deliver to help drive data-based strategic decision making.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, MIS
- Generally, requires 3-5 years related experience
- Experience in industry and/or public accounting or similar work environment
- Experience managing an AP portfolio
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage a large number of transactions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook)
- Experience with Excel, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Index, and other complex formulas and analysis requests.
- Experience with Salesforce and/or Tableau is preferred
- Experience with Oracle and Salesforce is a plus
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary.
