Universal Banker​/Financial Specialist

This role blends teller-line transactions with platform support, with a focus on client satisfaction, operational accuracy, and sales outcomes.

• Receive checks and cash for deposits: verify amounts and examine checks for required endorsements
• Cash checks and process payouts after verifying signatures and confirming customer balances
• Enter customer transactions into the computer system and issue computer-generated receipts
• Place account holds as appropriate
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in the cash drawer at end of shift and compare totals to computer-recorded data
• Explain, promote, refer, or sell Bank products and services (including accounts, loans, and cashier's checks) in-branch and via telemarketing; meet or exceed assigned goals
• Make outbound calls and set appointments for Market Leader and/or Sales & Service Officer (Banking Center Manager or Assistant Manager in NY only) aligned to market initiatives and branch goals
• Contribute to meeting branch sales goals
• Cross-train on platform products and operational processes; assist clients with related activities
• Open and process accounts and related products and services after discussing customer needs; assist customers when possible and refer to the appropriate business line when needed
• Achieve individual referral goals for cross-selling across credit, non-credit, and fee income targets
• Maintain knowledge of current products, policies, procedures, and regulations applicable to the position
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations applicable to the role, including federal and state requirements
• Process transactions from the automated teller machine and the night depository
• Respond professionally to customer inquiries and issues
• Assist customers with safe deposit box transactions
• Fill in for the Financial Specialist Leader when absent
• May order daily cash supplies and count incoming cash
• Under dual control, balance cash in automated teller machines and the night depository
• Comply with anti-money laundering expectations, including Bank Secrecy Act and US PATRIOT Act guidance
• Complete required training and follow Bank policies and procedures
• Identify and report suspicious activity

• Education: HS Diploma or GED required
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of cash handling experience (preferably Teller) required
• Preferred: Excellent customer service, sales, risk management, and cash operations experience

• Sign-on bonus: $500.00 paid after six months of continuous service
• Company may reimburse mileage exceeding the distance of an employee's daily commute to the primary office for training
• Traveling more than 60 miles each way: may inquire about hotel reimbursement details

• Candidates residing in locations within Bank United's footprint may be given preference
