Monarch Health Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health outcomes through preventive care, education, and outreach particularly in underserved communities across Palm Beach County.
Position SummaryThis role supports our Check Your Health Campaign by conducting health screenings, promoting wellness education, and assisting with outreach events. Volunteers, interns, and per diem staff will play a vital role in delivering preventive services for metabolic syndrome, nutrition, and STDs.
Key ResponsibilitiesNot all participants will be expected to perform every responsibility listed. Tasks will be assigned based on training, qualifications, and interest.
- Conduct basic health screenings (blood pressure, BMI, glucose, temperature, etc.)
- Support metabolic and nutrition checks and wellness screenings
- Perform rapid HIV and Hepatitis C testing (if certified/trained)
- Provide education and distribute resources on metabolic syndrome and STD prevention
- Assist with setup and breakdown of events and health booths
- Register clients and manage intake processes
- Engage residents and support public participation at community events
- Distribute flyers, giveaways, and educational materials
- Assist with data collection, surveys, and follow-up coordination
- Public health, pre-med, nursing, or allied health students
- Retired or licensed healthcare professionals (LPN, RN, MA)
- Community members or career changers passionate about health and service
- Strong communication skills and reliability
- Comfort working in community and outdoor settings
- Ability to stand and lift light equipment
- Orientation or training session required prior to participation
- For clinical roles: relevant certifications or student status in healthcare-related programs
- Flexible shifts (weekdays and weekends)
- Stipends available for per diem staff; service hours for students and volunteers
- Letters of recommendation upon successful participation
- Hands-on public health and outreach experience
