As a Principal Faculty member, you will teach and coordinate courses in the PA program and serve as Chair of the Admissions Committee, ensuring admissions processes align with ARC‑PA accreditation standards and university policies.
Key Job Elements- Chair of the Admissions Committee: schedule & lead meetings, oversee academic aspects, manage admissions cycle, produce annual report.
- Coordinate Student Ambassador Program.
- Teach & provide instruction in clinical/professional areas.
- Advise student faculty and facilitate small groups.
- Assist curriculum development, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate student performance in OSCEs, labs, clinical reasoning, problem‑solving, and technical skills.
- Develop course examinations and align with ARC‑PA & NCCPA standards.
- Support accreditation efforts, program assessment, and institutional goals.
- Engage in service, community outreach, Program Advisor Committee meetings, and scholarly activities.
- Participate in faculty development and stay current in medical knowledge.
- Assist with clinical site development & relationship management.
- Provide remedial instruction to support student progress.
- Perform duties as outlined in faculty job description and handbook provisions.
- Terminal degree in healthcare (e.g., physician assistant, pharmacy, medical doctor, public health) – minimum Master’s degree required.
- Eligibility for professional licensure/certification in applicable state; active, valid state license required.
- Preferably 1–2 years graduate health‑related teaching experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience if applicable.
- Experience in PA/medical classroom teaching preferred.
- PAs must have graduated from an accredited PA program and hold current NCCPA certification or emeritus status.
- Physician Assistant preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills with students and staff.
- Superior organization, prioritization, and self‑motivation.
- Strong computer skills: MS Office Suite, Exam Soft, WebAdMIT.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Interpret accreditation criteria and state regulations.
- Resolve inquiries and complaints from employees, students, regulatory agencies.
- Listen to customers and respond positively.
- Adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
