You will ensure data integrity, automate processes, and deliver timely, accurate reporting to support month-end close, fundraising, portfolio monitoring, and investor reporting. This role sits at the intersection of Accounting and Technology, and you will report to both the Head of Accounting and the Head of Technology to align finance processes with our technology roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

System administration and governance

  • Administer core financial systems (ERP/GL, sub-ledgers, AP/AR, fixed assets, investing modules) and related financial tools.
  • Maintain data integrity, master data quality, and chart of accounts structure; ensure consistency across systems.
  • Oversee user access, role-based permissions, security controls, and audit trails; coordinate SOX/compliance-related controls as applicable.
  • Lead system upgrade/testing cycles, patch management, and vendor communications.

Month-end close and financial reporting support

  • Support the month-end close process with accurate data extraction, validation, and reconciliation from finance systems.
  • Configure and generate standard and ad hoc financial reports, dashboards, and investor reporting packages.
  • Partner with Accounting to optimize close processes, reduce cycle time, and improve data reliability.

Analytics, reporting, and dashboards

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders (headcount: Head of Accounting, Head of Technology, FP&A, Portfolio Management) and for external reporting as needed.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver measurable improvements in reporting speed and accuracy.

System roadmap and partnerships

  • Collaborate with Head of Technology on technology stack decisions, vendor management, security posture, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Participate in evaluating new tools and enhancements that support private equity-specific needs (fund accounting, investor reporting, cash management, portfolio data consolidation).

Qualifications:

  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience:

2+ years of combined experience in accounting.
  • Accounting foundation:
Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close processes, reconciliations, general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and cash management.
  • Technology mindset:
Demonstrated interest in technology, data automation, and system optimization; ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and cross-functionally; proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
