Accounting Manager – Outsourced Accounting Practice (Special Projects)

• Hybrid position: you will be expected to go to our local office or client location as needed. You must be available to work Eastern and/or Central time zones.

• Evaluate client needs related to accounting and finance processes and assess accounting functions to recommend project approaches; contribute to proposal development for outsourced controller/CFO projects and other special projects.
• Participate in engagement planning and budgeting, defining content and deliverables while managing controls and risk.
• Manage and deliver outsourced controller/CFO projects, including overseeing day‑to‑day accounting functions, accounts receivable and payable, remitting payments to applicable taxing organizations.
• Manage month‑end closing process and prepare financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Research technical accounting issues and formulate resolutions through research.
• Manage special projects related to client accounting functions, recommending and implementing improvements to internal processes and controls.
• Analyze trends and metrics with leadership to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
• Identify client challenges and manage day‑to‑day relationships.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels on projects and maintain scheduling of internal and external activities.
• Create and manage project budgets, ensuring projects come in at or under approved budget.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the correlation between Outsourced Accounting Services and other Eisner Amper service offerings to create multi‑focused solutions.
• Direct engagements and special assignments, supervising multiple engagements simultaneously and ensuring assignments meet budgeted time.
• Deliver client services including onsite and remote consultation, development and implementation of deliverables, training and workshop materials, maintenance of project timelines and budgets, and client billing activities.
• Interact regularly with other consulting service line leaders and team members, building relationships across service lines and locations.
• Work closely with management to lead and participate in practice development activities and evaluation of training programs.
• Review reports, statements and returns upon completion; inform senior management of the status of engagements.
• Recommend new approaches, resources, deliverables, policies and procedures to improve departmental efficiencies and services.
• Provide direction, training, guidance and oversight to staff; review performance, provide coaching and address employee issues.
• Plan and supervise professional and technical development through training venues and options.
• Improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention within the Outsourced Accounting Services Team.
• Maintain required CPE hours for firm and licensing standards.

• BA/BS degree in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting, audit or financial statements experience.
• Prior supervisory experience.
