About

the Company

The Director will provide oversight and be responsible for all operations within a designated geographic area. This geographic area will include one or more regions comprising of up to twelve facilities. The Operations responsibility will include Transportation, Receiving, Warehousing, Manufacturing, and any other functional areas needed to effectively service customers and meet or exceed established goals. The Director will ensure all areas of Operations are completed in a safe and efficient manner while executing the strategic initiatives of the company.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and analyze operational processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and minimize expenses.
  • Assists with budgeting and forecasting expenses, preparation of individual warehouse budgets, analyzes variances, and develops action plans to correct variances as needed.
  • Achieve operational objectives by reviewing metrics and pertinent information; make recommendations based upon the review; prepare and complete action plans and lead the implementation as needed.
  • Serve as the Senior Operations Leader within the geographic area, working closely with the Region Operations Managers to lead all efforts to include strict adherence to Operational Excellence Audit Guidelines and established best practices.
  • Position deliverables include, but are not limited to productivity improvement, policies enforcement, quality, service improvement, staffing to the required headcount, world‑class training, and maintaining a safety‑first culture.
  • Embrace lean and strict inventory management principles and processes to effectively manage inventory.
  • Oversee all Operations to ensure equipment and facilities are always maintained to ensure superior customer service expectations are met.
  • Provide customer service training to employees to always promote and deliver superior customer service.
  • Continually analyze processes, workflows, productivity, and staffing to lead Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Promote the health and welfare of employees and ensure proper safety protocols are followed.
  • Inspect what is expected. Hold teams accountable for results while leading by example in actions.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams in the development and execution of best practices and projects.
  • Evaluate direct reports for continued growth and all functions for cross training opportunities.
  • Implement mentoring, cross‑training, and bench development principles while leveraging internal and external resources.
  • Ensure all team members work in a safe and productive manner.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience opening/closing a facility
  • Experience leading CDL‑A, CDL‑B, or other delivery drivers
  • Multi‑site operations management with varying levels of sophistication but largely focused on conventional operations
  • 10 years of Warehouse, Transportation, and/or Manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Proven impact in continuous improvement (CI), Lean/Six Sigma, process standardization (LSW), quality teams, and cost‑efficiency projects
  • Blend of data analysis and hands‑on, on‑floor operations
  • Experience with WMS and preferably TMS/routing solutions
  • Strong computer, budgeting, communication, and relationship‑building skills
  • Certified forklift/Raymond operator a plus
  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
