Always.Reasonover Talent Group is conducting a confidential recruitment search for a Controller for a mission-driven non-profit organization in West Palm Beach, FL. This is a full-time, permanent job opportunity.
This a senior leadership role is responsible for the oversight of accounting activities, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, grants compliance and internal controls. You will lead the accounting team, elevate processes, strengthen accuracy and consistency, and ensure that the organization meets all GAAP, audit, and regulatory requirements.
This role partners closely with the CFO and plays a critical part in supporting strategic decision-making, financial planning, and organizational sustainability.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and supervise Senior and Staff Accountants responsible for daily accounting activities.
- Oversee financial close cycles, financial statement preparation, reporting packages, and presentations to leadership.
- Direct annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts across departments.
- Ensure high-quality grant reporting, funding compliance, and timely reimbursement activity.
- Maintain strong internal controls, guide policy updates, and manage the annual audit process.
- Partner with program and operational leaders on fund allocation, resource planning, and financial best practices.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a non-profit environment.
- Demonstrated experience supervising and developing accounting staff.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit fund accounting.
- Experience preparing financial statements and managing annual audits.
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency utilizing Excel and/or Smartsheet.
- Hybrid work flexibility (post-initial probationary period) - 3 days onsite, 2 days WFH.
