Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Responsible for keeping the mattress building feed conveyor full of materials. Suppliers work off the daily schedule and place the proper innersprings, panels and filling materials together as a unit on the conveyor in a timely manner.
- Lifts, carries and places innerspring unit on conveyor (up to 60 lbs.). Opens crates of springs as needed.
- Lifts, carries and places insulators and upholstery items on innerspring.
- Lifts, carries and places cover on insulators.
- Pushes innerspring units and components along the conveyor as needed.
- Carries bales of foam to work area and opens.
- Pushes carts of covers to work area from storage area.
- Brings innerspring units to work area from storage areas and crate opening area.
- Performs duties in a safe and efficient manner. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Opens crates of springs.
- Ability to sort items along with good organizational skills.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow work instructions, loading schedules and production tickets; must understand and follow verbal instructions; communicate with coworkers and management clearly and respectfully; and work in an ever‑changing, fast‑paced team environment.

- Basic ability to read and write English.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work safely, take initiative, multi‑task, and work both independently and as a part of a team. Work experience with pneumatic tools and/or in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations as required.
- Also must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8‑hour shift or longer in overtime situations to meet customer demand.
- Heavy loads must be team‑lifted.
- A work pace that maintains integrity of make‑to‑order system is required.
- Safety‑focused, fast‑paced manufacturing plant engaged in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement.
- Work environment includes a clean and safe work area and exposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire‑retardant materials, and limited chemicals.
- Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn for any hazards and is supplied by the company.
SUPERVISED BY:
Plant Supervisor or the Plant Operations Manager. May receive direction from the Department Lead.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to where legally required, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
