Maintenance Mechanic

Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of marine engine parts, has an immediate need for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in West Palm Beach.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing industrial machinery and heavy equipment to ensure smooth operations. They should have hands-on experience with mechanical systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and heavy equipment in two buildings.
• Work with equipment such as hydraulic presses, welding machines, automated saws, air systems, lathes (CNC & manual), pneumatic equipment, and water jet machines.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and implement repairs.
• Replace defective parts like gears and bearings.
• Conduct inspections to prevent equipment failure.
• Use diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and develop repair strategies.
• Install and calibrate new machinery for optimal performance.
• Adjust equipment settings as needed.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Report on equipment status and suggest improvements.
• Follow safety protocols and industry standards.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve equipment issues and improve efficiency.
• Participate in team meetings regarding maintenance projects.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained safely.
• Adhere to safety and security procedures.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, especially with heavy and industrial machinery.
• Electrical experience is a plus.
• Good communication skills;
  Spanish is a plus but not mandatory.
• Punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and conscientious.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments.
• Strong multitasking, prioritizing, and project management skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various conditions.
