Charge Nurse RN Surgical Unit

We’re seeking a Charge Nurse RN Surgical Unit at HCA Florida JFK North Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL.

In this role you’ll deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care, collaborate with the management team, and support the unit’s performance.

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient‑centered care.
• Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
• Support a patient‑first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
• Support the facility’s efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
• Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
• Assist with staff scheduling. Manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
• Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current State of Florida Registered RN license, or recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Minimum of one year acute care hospital medical/surgical RN experience.
• One or more years of leadership experience.
• Fingerprinting required.
