A strong ER nursing leader with proven management experience, capable of overseeing clinical and administrative operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on emergency room leadership, strong operational skills, and the ability to manage both patient care delivery and emergency preparedness programs.
The Director of Nursing – Emergency Room is responsible for the overall clinical and administrative leadership of Patient Care Services within the ER. This includes ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care delivery, compliance with regulatory standards, and oversight of emergency management programs to maintain disaster readiness.
Key Responsibilities Clinical & Operational Leadership- Oversee daily operations of Emergency Room patient care services
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care
- Develop and implement unit-specific care plans and service line programs
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and accreditation bodies (e.g., Joint Commission)
- Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and emergency preparedness standards
- Lead emergency management program and disaster preparedness initiatives
- Ensure ongoing compliance with emergency response standards
- Coordinate training and readiness activities
- Develop policies and procedures for patient care delivery
- Drive initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Support strategies to increase patient volume and service line growth
- Foster a professional, collaborative work environment
- Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff and leadership teams
- Promote continuous improvement and clinical excellence
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN required)
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare management experience
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room (ER) experience
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – State of Florida
- Strong knowledge of hospital operations, patient care standards, and compliance
