Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time

Shift: Morning/AM

Position Overview Hive Bakery and Cafe is seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our dedicated back-of-house team. As a Dishwasher, you play a crucial role in supporting daily kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, ensuring all dishes, utensils, and equipment are clean and ready for service.

Responsibilities
  • Dishwashing & Sanitation: Wash, rinse, and sanitize all dishes, utensils, pots, and pans according to health and safety standards. Operate dishwashing machines and ensure proper chemical levels and equipment functionality. Maintain cleanliness of dish area, including floors, sinks, walls, and shelving.
  • Kitchen Support: Assist kitchen staff by providing clean tools and cookware as needed throughout service. Remove trash and recyclables regularly and ensure proper disposal. Restock clean dishware, glassware, and kitchen supplies in appropriate areas.
  • Health & Safety: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the manager immediately. Participate in deep cleaning and routine maintenance of kitchen equipment and surfaces.

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with cooks, bussers, and other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. Support prep and line cooks with basic kitchen tasks during slower periods, as needed. Assist with opening and closing responsibilities, including setup and breakdown of the dish area.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follows sanitation and safety standards. Practices proper food handling, storage, and stocking procedures. Responds appropriately to other assigned duties from the management team.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
