Purpose
Primary Care Sales Consultant (SC) is accountable for implementing sales strategies for approved Cardiorenal products and driving launch activities for an anticipated menopause launch. Responsibilities include driving demand, clinical education, and sales by developing and executing a strategic business plan for primary care physicians in community settings.
Tasks and Responsibilities- Build and develop professional relationships with primary care and pharmacy staff within assigned customers.
- Drive utilization of approved cardiovascular and menopause products, working closely with the Customer Squad to generate pull-through within local payers and community HCPs.
- Leverage expertise in diabetes, menopause, and cardiovascular marketplaces, and anticipate business opportunities and challenges.
- Provide meaningful input to commercial colleagues regarding strategic and tactical planning for territory, area, and region.
- Develop and implement effective customer-specific business plans and communicate insights to internal stakeholders.
- Prioritize coverage of appropriate physician specialists based on opportunity and potential.
- Understand and meet assigned customers’ product and business needs while adhering to Bayer ethics and compliance standards.
- Anticipate barriers to goal achievement and propose responsible solutions.
- Handle customer objections effectively and exceed customer expectations.
- Share exemplary skills with others in a training capacity when called upon.
- Leverage and embrace emerging technologies to enhance performance and continuously improve proficiency.
- Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations, applying high ethical standards in day-to-day work.
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Proven track record of consistent high performance in a sales role or other relevant experience.
- Proven track record of developing long‑standing relationships with customers.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership fostering an environment that promotes ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Ability to comply with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up‑to‑date vaccinations, trainings).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- An advanced degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.
- In‑depth knowledge in cardiovascular, diabetes, and/or menopause disease states.
- Product launch experience.
- Strong analytical and computer capabilities.
- Virtual sales experience.
- Strong local relationships with HCPs and understanding of local market.
