Automotive Sales Consultant

Job Purpose As a Sales Consultant you will be the face of our dealership, responsible for guiding customers through the vehicle purchasing process.

Your role is to create a positive and informative experience for our customers by understanding their needs, presenting vehicle options, and facilitating sales transactions. You will contribute to the dealership’s success by meeting sales targets, building lasting relationships with customers, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of our inventory.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Greet customers promptly and courteously upon their arrival at the dealership.

Engage with customers to understand their vehicle needs and preferences.

Provide detailed information about vehicle features, pricing, financing options, and warranties.

Conduct test drives and demonstrate vehicle capabilities.

Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Assist customers in selecting a vehicle that best fits their needs and budget.

Present purchase and lease options, along with financing alternatives.

Negotiate pricing, trade-in values, and payment plans in a transparent and respectful manner.

Facilitate the completion of all necessary paperwork for vehicle purchases.

Follow up with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and address any additional needs.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the dealership’s inventory, including new and pre-owned vehicles.

Stay informed about current promotions, incentives, and financing programs.

Continuously update knowledge on automotive technology, features, and industry trends.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.

Maintain a customer database with accurate contact information and purchase history.

Actively participate in community and Schumacher dealership events to promote the dealership’s brand and increase customer base.

Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set by the Sales Manager.

Contribute to the dealership’s overall sales strategy and marketing efforts.

Provide feedback to management on customer preferences and market trends.

Work closely with the Sales Manager, Finance, and Service departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Assist in training and mentoring new sales staff as needed.

Participate in sales meetings and training sessions to continuously improve sales skills.

Attends sales meetings as requested.

Additional duties as requested by management.

Welcoming customers as they arrive, building a relationship to understand their needs.

Needs Assessment:
Asking questions to determine the customer's requirements, preferences, and budget.

Product Demonstration:
Providing detailed information about the features, benefits, and specifications of vehicles. Offering test drives to showcase the vehicles.

Sales Process:
Negotiation:
Working with customers to agree on pricing, trade-in values, financing options, and other terms of sale. Closing Sales:
Securing the sale by guiding the customer through the purchasing process, including paperwork and finalizing the deal.

Follow-Up:
Maintaining communication with customers post-purchase to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

Product Knowledge:
Continuously learning about the dealership’s inventory, new models, and industry trends. Clearly explaining the advantages of different vehicles, optional features, and accessories.

Administrative Tasks:
Documentation:
Handling sales contracts, processing credit applications, and ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete. Tracking sales numbers, customer interactions, and follow-ups in the dealership’s CDK system.
