Job Summary

Manages the production of installers and helpers who install, maintain, and service residential HVAC equipment and accessories. Oversees daily work, ensures adequate staffing to meet customer needs, assists technicians with unusual or difficult assignments, trains and coaches employees, enforces safety rules and practices, and conducts quality‑control checks on completed work. Performs service, maintenance, and installation work as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with RSC’s and Managers to schedule and communicate install availability
  • Manage the production schedule, monitoring upcoming work to assign technicians and crews to maximize productivity and meet customer needs
  • Create and maintain job folders ensuring warehouse supervisor and technicians are prepared for upcoming installs
  • Process job folders after install completion: line item all PO’s, enter equipment serial numbers into Stars, ensure accurate Job Pay Worksheets and Warehouse pull sheets, verify completion of all on‑site paperwork and customer signatures
  • Collect, correct and submit timesheets; timestamp all tickets in Stars
  • Verify all jobs have had permits pulled and file permits accordingly
  • Work with third‑party vendors and coordinate with customers to resolve any damages incurred during install to customer satisfaction
  • Track technician performance, monitoring areas of improvement and rewarding technicians for going above and beyond
  • Be available by phone during evenings and weekends to ensure install operations run smoothly and weekend sales are scheduled as needed
  • Monitor shipping/receiving and perform monthly inventory of equipment and parts to ensure departmental budget accuracy
  • Participate in new‑hire interviews to ensure proper staffing
  • Conduct regular meetings with technicians and helpers on performance review and training on lead generation, customer service, company products and services, safety rules, and company goals
  • Conduct quality‑control reviews to ensure work is performed in accordance with company practices and expected workmanship
  • Train employees on company processes, procedures, and safety rules and practices
  • Ensure the company’s vehicles, tools, and property are properly used, maintained, and accounted for
  • Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business activities
  • Ensure vehicle stock is managed and material requisition forms are completed as needed
  • Demonstrate leadership to field staff in customer focus and service, following company policies and safety guidelines
  • Assist the Branch Manager with administrative tasks and other duties as needed
  • Perform service, maintenance, and installation work as needed to meet customer needs
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or GED with additional HVAC training; NATE certification preferred
  • Minimum five years’ experience servicing or installing residential HVAC equipment
  • Valid licensing or certification required by local regulations for the work area
  • Basic leadership skills
  • Ability to train others in technical skills and customer service
  • Strong communication skills to resolve customer issues and complaints
  • Excellent time‑management and organizational skills
  • Advanced HVAC technical skills, including troubleshooting and repairing residential systems
  • Proficient mechanical aptitude and tool operation
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and troubleshoot electrical and refrigerant systems
  • Ability to start up and balance airflow, align belts and pulleys, install basic duct fittings, and repair electronic air cleaners
  • Ability to calculate heat gain and loss using approved methods
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in confined spaces; lift up to 75 lb and carry up to 50 lb
