Job Description
The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical infrastructure of the facility, including routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general upkeep of systems and equipment. This role ensures the facility remains safe, clean, functional, and compliant with internal standards and external regulations.
Responsibilities- Adheres to 5S/6S objectives & maintain a clean & safe work environment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms, maintenance shop, and storage areas.
- Perform preventative maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical, and general infrastructure.
- Respond to maintenance service requests and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Assist with setting up events and install/take-down decorative decor.
- Perform a variety of maintenance/minor repair activities on the interior/exterior areas of the property including, but not limited to, painting, carpentry, masonry, drywall, parking lots, sidewalks, plumbing repairs, clears drain stoppages, lighting, flooring, doors, windows & roof.
- Monitor and inspect the condition of the facility and report potential safety hazards or required repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Work collaboratively with contractors, vendors, and other departments as needed.
- Support facility projects such as renovations, equipment installation, or space reconfiguration.
- Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Participate in facility inspections and audits as required.
- Perform seasonal duties such as snow removal, landscaping, and HVAC changeovers.
- Powered Industrial Vehicle experience requiring inhouse certification in forklift, scissor lift, single man lifts.
- Review assignment, and completion of daily facilities PMs through CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
- Assist with site contractor service escorts and safety spotting/zoning during site projects.
- Assist with scheduling and directing site contractor services and PM’s, including sprinkler systems, fire risers, fire doors & fire extinguisher inspections, electrical maintenance, dock door and leveler maintenance and other supporting site equipment and services.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building systems, or general trades (e.g., HVAC, electrical, carpentry).
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact with vendors and coworkers professionally.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on facility needs.
