Position Summary
The Washington Nationals are seeking a Strength & Conditioning Rehab Coordinator to lead, design, and implement strength and conditioning programs for all players undergoing medical or performance rehabilitation at the Washington Nationals’ Complex in West Palm Beach. This role will work collaboratively with the Medical, Strength & Conditioning, Pitching, Hitting, Nutrition, and Mental Skills departments to ensure seamless continuity of care from injury through return to play and to support organizational initiatives, research, and process improvement.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of individualized rehab strength and conditioning programs for injured or returning-to-play athletes.
- Progress athletes through return-to-play phases in collaboration with medical staff.
- Coordinate with the S&C Coordinator to maintain consistent organizational standards.
- Work daily with Medical, Athletic Training, Pitching/Hitting, and Nutrition to integrate strength, movement, workload, into rehab plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and communicate athlete status updates clearly and consistently.
- Assist in developing organizational best practices for rehab progressions, testing batteries, and return-to-play criteria.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports on athlete progress and rehab milestones.
- Assist with off‑season program creation and remote rehabbing check‑ins.
- Support Spring Training strength and conditioning operations for the Minor League department.
- Assist the MiLB S&C Coordinator with department‑wide initiatives, research projects, and system development.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- NSCA certification (CSCS).
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- Vehicle and laptop computer.
- Master’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
- Experience using a variety of sport science devices such as 1080 Motion Devices, Vald Ecosystem, Gym Aware, etc.
- Two years of strength and conditioning experience in the rehab setting (baseball experience preferred).
- Bilingual (Spanish).
- Willingness to learn and continue education within the Strength and Conditioning field.
The projected annual salary range for this position is $75,000 – $80,000 per year. Actual pay is based on qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organizational requirements.
