Arterial Operations Operator [West Palm Beach, FL]
Iteris, Inc. is seeking multiple Arterial Operations Operators to monitor and respond to incidents impacting the arterial network, provide day-to-day monitoring of the traffic signal system, track system alarms, and generate signal system operations reports. This role includes monitoring CCTV and DMS systems for the arterial street network. Multiple positions will be based at the Palm Beach TSM&O TMC located at 2300 N.

- Monitor the arterial network using CCTV, SIRV, detector data, Bluetooth devices, and other tools; possess strong familiarity with the district’s arterial network
- Detect, confirm, update, and respond to scheduled and unscheduled traffic and incident management events on the arterial network, addressing congestion and travel time imbalances in the coverage area
- Enter all scheduled and unscheduled events and congestion into Sun Guide software
- Disseminate information using ITS devices, website, and Florida 511 system
- Coordinate with other Control Room staff, law enforcement, and external agencies in response to incidents
- Dispatch SIRVs to motorists, events, and to assist law enforcement in a timely and efficient manner
- Coordinate with signal timing staff and county or city/municipality staff to adjust signal timing as needed during events
- Detect, confirm, and report equipment faults affecting Control Room equipment and field equipment
- Perform daily Arterial ITS infrastructure checks (CCTVs, DMS, MVDS, Video Wall) and open ITS device failure tickets as needed
- Coordinate with maintenance staff as needed
- Follow FDOT District 4 policies and procedures, including the District 4 TSM&O SOP; follow time requirements for event confirmation and dispatching
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Express Lanes Operations Manager or Program Management
- Act as essential personnel during emergency events to support MTC operations
- Over one year of experience in transportation, public safety, and/or commercial operations
- High School Degree, or equivalent
- Commitment to outstanding client service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with clients and/or partner agencies
- Proficiency in computing and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Able to work in a small team environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Strong work ethic
- General knowledge and interest in ITS and traffic management standards
- Flexibility and dependability
- Good time and task management skills
- Ability and willingness to work alternate schedules and function as essential personnel during regional emergencies
Iteris anticipates paying $20.00/hr. for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
