Missouri State University-West Plains accepts applications for Adjunct Faculty to establish a pool of available candidates. Missouri State University-West Plains is seeking an adjunct instructor to lead and teach a Community Choir course. This course is designed to engage students and community members in choral singing, fostering musical growth, ensemble skills, and community engagement through performance.
- Plan and conduct weekly choir rehearsals for enrolled students and community participants.
- Develop appropriate recruitment opportunities for prospective students including outreach through campus, local schools, and community events.
- Select appropriate choral repertoire that reflects a variety of musical styles and skill levels.
- Assess student participation and provide feedback in accordance with university guidelines.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grading records.
- Collaborate with the Director of Music for scheduling, equipment setup, and promotion of performances.
- Collaborate with the Director of Music to create Student Learning Outcomes, assess student learning, and submit course assessment at the close of the semester.
Adjunct Faculty should possess a master’s degree or the equivalent professional experience in a field determined acceptable by the Dean. Bachelor’s degree may be acceptable in certain subject areas as determined by the Dean.
Additional Qualifications- Demonstrated experience directing adult choirs or vocal ensembles.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students and community members of varying musical backgrounds.
- Familiarity with community engagement and outreach through the arts.
