Missouri State University-West Plains accepts applications for Adjunct Faculty to establish a pool of available candidates. Description of Primary DutiesMissouri State University-West Plains is looking for adjunct faculty to teach in the area of Agriculture. Will teach general agriculture courses with specific topics of soils, plant science, introduction to companion animals, and introduction to horses.
Responsibilities include teaching assigned course(s); grading students’ work in a timely manner; being available to assist students with course‑related matters; submitting attendance and midterm/final grades by the required deadlines; completing course assessments on time; and participating in required training.
Classes may be scheduled during the day or evening hours and may be seated, online, blended, or interactive video.
Adjunct faculty members are appointed on a semester basis only. The hours which adjunct faculty are allowed to teach each semester are determined by current regulations. Consult with the office of academic affairs to determine the number of hours allowed.
Minimum Acceptable QualificationsAdjunct Faculty should possess a master’s degree or the equivalent professional experience in a field determined acceptable by the Dean. Bachelor’s degree may be acceptable in certain subject areas as determined by the Dean.
