Job DescriptionThe West Plains School District is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of middle school counselor for the school year. Certification by Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Elementary Counseling K-8 or the ability to obtain such certification is a requirement of the successful candidate. West Plains Middle School has approximately 550 students in the 5th-8th grade.
Responsibilities- The successful candidate will possess the ability to actively work with students and encourage them throughout the learning processes to help them achieve their maximum potential.
- Successful candidates must have the ability to ensure the academic success of all students by proactive advising, course monitoring, course scheduling, and developing interventions.
- Further, the position is responsible for college/career exploration and fulfillment of the ICAP process and expectations.
- The successful candidate(s) will also be able to interpret and utilize data to support decisions.
- Certification by Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Elementary Counseling K-8 or the ability to obtain such certification is a requirement of the successful candidate.
- Candidates should have a working knowledge of Missouri's Comprehensive School Counseling Programs as well as testing procedures.
