Scanner Feeder (3rd Shift)
Location: West Plains, MO.
Shift: 9:30 pm – 5:30 am.
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K.
This position feeds rough lumber into infeed chains/rollers for the scanner that captures an image of the board to be cut by the automated knot saws.
Job Duties- Inspect lumber from the scanner drag to determine how to feed the product best to go through the scanner and automated knot saws.
- Stop/reset the scanner to help remove jammed pieces at infeed and reset or make minor adjustments as needed.
- Remove strips or defective lumber from drag that won’t go through the scanner and place into bin.
- Assist machine operator in setting up scanner, resetting errors, and ensuring proper operation of the full board scanner.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude in identifying parts type, material, functionality and application.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Efficient communication and teamwork skills.
- Desire and ability to interact with production operators, supervisors, and managers.
- Ability to work independently or as a team and follow instructions.
- Must complete and follow Lock Out/Tag Out training.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Regularly push, pull, carry, and lift 5–25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Continual walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movements.
- Regularly talk, hear, read, write.
- Visual requirements: distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Work near moving mechanical parts.
- Regular hand–eye coordination at a fast pace.
- Regularly climbs stairs to/from workstations.
- Work in moderate noise, up to 83 decibels.
- Make decisions.
