The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking dependable Direct Care Staff in Springfield, MA. Join our dedicated team working in a supportive residential environment for developmentally disabled adults living in a community‑based group home. Our goal is to provide an environment that encourages residents to grow and to live as independently as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene.
  • Administer medications as needed (training provided).
  • Advocate for individuals in community settings.
  • Build professional, supportive relationships with residents, offering informal guidance with a person‑centered approach while maintaining appropriate boundaries to ensure a respectful and safe environment.
  • Provide opportunities to optimize residents’ independence.
  • Assist in creating a supportive residential environment that encourages growth and independence.
Requirements
  • Completion of medication administration training (MAP certification).
  • Previous experience working with individuals with dementia or behavioral complexities is highly encouraged.
  • Complete and pass a background record screening process.
  • Must have a vehicle for work use and a valid driver's license.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and MAP certification preferred.
  • Flexible to work a 2nd shift schedule, 3 pm‑11 pm, including weekends.

Pay rate: $20.00 per hour.
