Job Overview

Part-time (2nd shift) Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Direct Care / Caregiver in Springfield, MA. This position is located at Meadows Homes in West Springfield, MA (Job

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking dependable Direct Care Staff to work in a supportive residential environment for developmentally disabled adults living in a community-based group home. Candidates must be flexible to work 2nd shift (3 pm–11 pm) that includes weekends. Active MAP certification qualifies for a $250 bonus upon joining.

Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene.
  • Administer medications as needed (training will be provided).
  • Advocate for individuals in community settings.
  • Build professional, supportive relationships with individuals, offering informal guidance with a person-centered approach while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Provide opportunities to optimize their independence.
Qualifications
  • Ability to complete medication administration training (MAP certification).
  • Previous experience working with individuals with dementia or behavioral complexities is highly encouraged.
  • All candidates must complete and pass a background record screening process.
  • Must have a vehicle for work use and a current driver’s license.
  • First Aid, CPR and MAP certification is preferred.
  • Flexible to work a 2nd shift schedule, 3 pm–11 pm, including weekends.

Pay & Benefits

Pay rate is $20.00 /hr. Benefits include dental, health, and life insurance; paid time off, earned vacation time and paid holidays.
