Responsibilities- Assemble and align complex optical and electro-optical components used in high-power fiber laser systems
- Perform advanced fiber splicing, cleaving, connectorization, and termination using specialized tools and fusion splicers
- Collaborate with engineering on prototype builds, process development, and design-for-manufacturability improvements
- Conduct optical alignment, testing, and verification using power meters, spectrum analyzers, and interferometers
- Identify, document, and resolve production and quality issues in collaboration with the Quality and Engineering teams
- Maintain accurate production documentation, inspection data, and test reports
- Ensure compliance with all company safety, ESD, and laser safety standards; support continuous improvement initiatives related to yield, throughput, and process consistency
- Expert-level skills in fiber handling, splicing, polishing, and alignment
- Strong understanding of optical principles, laser safety, and assembly processes
- Ability to read and interpret complex assembly drawings and schematics
- Experience with microscopes, alignment lasers, power meters, and related diagnostic tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Proficient in basic computer applications and manufacturing documentation systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certificate in optics, electronics, or related field preferred
- 2–4 years of experience in fiber laser component or precision optical assembly
- Knowledge of ISO quality systems advantageous
- Work performed in a cleanroom or laboratory environment
- Requires use of microscopes, precision tools, and optical alignment equipment
- Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs
- Must follow all company safety, ESD, and laser operation protocols
