Plasma Center Nurse – LPN ($3,000 Sign‑on Bonus)
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., is seeking a licensed practical nurse to serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at our West Springfield, MA site.
About the RoleAs a Plasma Center Nurse, you will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician to support plasma collection operations and ensure donor safety and quality.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent and conduct medical history interviews.
- Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Monitor donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues and provide guidance on donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) for incident evaluation.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a recognized nursing program with state licensing requirements.
- Licensed or certified LPN or LVN in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑required basic IV therapy training.
- Successfully complete the FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialists.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Hourly wage range: $26.15 – $35.96 (West Springfield, MA). Eligible U.S. employees may receive short‑term incentives, 401(k) with company match, health, dental, vision insurance, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and wellness benefits. U.S. employees earn up to 80 hours of sick time annually; new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
