Pacific Rail Services is looking for Driver Laborers to join our team at the West Springfield, MA Railyard. This is a recession-proof, essential job with long-term stability and great earning potential. No experience? No problem! We’ll train you on everything you need to succeed.

Curious what the job looks like?

• Operate a jockey truck to maneuver 53ft trailers, containers, and chassis within the yard.
• Perform ground duties including climbing railcars, managing track locks, and handling Inner Box Connectors (IBCs).
• Assist in loading/unloading equipment with packer operators using hand signals.
• Participate in stacking/unstacking chassis and managing chassis racks.
• Other tasks as assigned.
• The position includes the duties of both a Hostler Driver & a Ground Person.

Pay & Schedule

• Starting Pay: $19/hr.
• After Training: $20/hr (typically after 2–3 months).
• Annual Earnings: $50,000–$65,000 with overtime.
• Shifts:
  
  Day & Night shifts available (10–12 hour days, up to 6 days/week).

• Must be 18+ years old with a valid Driver’s License.
• Able to pass a 7-year background check, drug test, and Physical Capabilities Test.

You will be employed directly by Pacific Rail Services and will not be considered an employee of the railroad.

This position is ideal for individuals with experience in warehousing, delivery driving (CDL or non-CDL), landscaping, outdoor work, or railyard operations—or anyone ready to start a new career!
