in West St. Paul offers senior living with services to 127 customers, a 37-bed transitional care and rehabilitation center, 24 memory care apartments, and 10 care suites.

Walker Methodist Westwood Ridge
seeks a Fitness Technician to implement exercise programs to facilitate strength, balance, and fitness for Fitness Center members. In addition to direct supervision of the Fitness Center, the Fitness Technician will be responsible for new member recruitment and the entire new member onboarding process, including initial sign-up, conducting fitness assessments, and orientation.

This is a full-time position, days, Monday through Friday.

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or equivalent
• ACSM EP-C certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• Current BLS certification
• Experience evaluating, designing, and implementing strength and conditioning programs for older adults
• Working knowledge of exercise contraindications and appropriate exercise techniques for common medical issues such as joint issues, cardiopulmonary disease, and metabolic disease
• Experience working in a healthcare environment
• Ability to organize workflow with timely follow-through
• Commitment to assisting seniors in developing to their fullest potential

Preferred qualifications:

• ACSM, NSCA, ACE, or NASM certification or equivalent nationally-recognized certification
• Knowledge of biomechanics and postural issues and general knowledge of pharmacology
• Experience working in a non-profit healthcare environment
• Experience leading group exercise classes and/or nationally recognized group exercise certifications
